Swiss Aussie Campers Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jan-2007 and 30-Jun-2008

Rental Duration and Pricing
Rental days are calculated on a calendar basis regardless of pick up time.
Late pick up or early return does not entitle the hirer to a refund.  
Extensions to the rental period require prior authorisation from  Swiss Aussie
Multiple rentals can be combined for the benefit of a long term rate.
For pick up and drop off on the same day the first day of the subsequent rental will not be charged.

Rental Cancellation
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
Cancellation more than 33 days prior to pick up: 10 % of rental fee
Cancellation less than 33 days prior to pick up:  50 % of rental fee
The Booking deposit (approx 15-20%) is payable upon booking confirmation.  The remainder of your rental charges are due 30 days prior to the commencement of your rental (they will be automatically processed on your supplied credit card).

Travel insurance
We strongly recommend that clients ensure they take out the highest level of travel insurance. In many cases this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking.

Insurance
The insurance attached to the registration of the vehicles covers personal injury to Third Parties.
Swiss Aussie vehicles are insured for damage to the vehicle or to the property of a Third Party.
Basic Insurance cover is included in the base rental rates
With this basic level the hirer is responsible for the first AU$ 1500.00 for 4WD vehicles or AU$1000.00 for Campervans of the cost of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle including windscreen and tyre damage, overhead and under body damage, theft, fire or break in, single vehicle accident, towing and recovery costs.
This excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental and must be paid at the time the accident / damage is reported regardless of who is at fault.
The excess will be refunded at the completion of a recovery of damage from the Third Party.
Basic Excesses are doubled if the driver is aged under 25 years of age. - so hirer / driver is responsible for up to AU$ 3000.00 for 4WD vehicles or AU$2000.00 for Campervans

CC-Insurance Excess Reduction
This extra option is only available for rentals of 31 days plus. 
It is only available for drivers aged 25 and over.
It reduces excess from  AU$ 1500.00 for 4WD vehicles or AU$1000.00 for Campervans to AU$ 250,00 and covers tyre and windscreen damage
Cost is:
Campervans:  AU$ 20,00/per day max charge of. AU$ 1250,00/rental
Motorhomes/4wd: AU$ 25,00/ per day max charge of.  AU$ 1500,00/rental

Exclusions
The insurance does not cover
 ----    any water related damage caused by submersion, creek, river or flood plain  crossing or beach driving
 ----    personal belongings
 ----    use of incorrect fuel
 ----    costs to retrieve or recover a vehicle, which has become bogged
 ----    traffic infringements
Swiss Aussie reserves the right of recovery of any costs arising from accidents and Third Party damage not reported on return of the vehicle.
All excess limitations are void if the terms of the rental agreement are breached.

Traffic infringements
The administration fee for traffic infringements caused and not paid for by the customer is AU$ 50.00 per infringement.

Vehicle Security Deposit
A vehicle security deposit is payable on pick up of the vehicle.
The deposit for 4wd or Motorhomes AU$ 1500.00 and for campervans AU$ 1000.00 and can be paid in cash or by signed credit card.
This deposit is fully refundable provided the vehicle is returned on time, at the specified location, undamaged, cleaned and with full fuel tanks ( “fuel” being petrol or diesel and LPG gas)

The toilet and wastewater tank if applicable must be emptied prior to the return of the vehicle, or an additional AU$ 100.00 cleaning fee will be retained.

Swiss Aussie reserves the right to charge a cleaning fee of AU$150.00, if the hirer fails to return the vehicle in clean exterior and interior condition.

On Road Assistance
On road assistance is provided by the AANT  and affiliated organisations, which may be contacted directly in case of a break down. Any problems associated with the vehicle, including equipment failure must be reported to  Swiss Aussie as soon as possible and within 24 hours.
Swiss Aussie does not accept liability for any claims submitted after this period.
Reasonable repairs up to AU$ 100.00 may be undertaken without prior consent and will be reimbursed. Receipts  for repairs must be submitted.  

Change of Vehicle
Swiss Aussie reserves the right to substitute an alternative vehicle without prior notification and at no extra cost. This does not constitute a breach of contract and the hirer is not entitled to a refund.
No refund will be paid, if the hirer decides to take a smaller vehicle than booked.

One way rentals
We offer one way rentals between our depots, the fees will vary by different depots, so please ask for details.

Mileage
300km/day for rentals upto 30 days and rentals from 31 day+ get unlimited km
extra kms AU$0.20/km for campervans and AU$0.25/km for 4wds and motorhomes

Optional extras:
Baby seat or booster: AU$50 each, payable at pick up.

Driver Licence
Minimum age is 21. The drivers under 25 years old need to pay double of the insurance excess. A valid drivers licence has to be produced at the time of pickup. If the licence is not in English format, a certified English translation of the licence or an international driver licence are required.  

Restrictions
2 Wheel Drive vehicles can only be driven on sealed roads.
4 Wheel Drive vehicles can be driven on recognised unsealed tracks.
Written permission is required for the following areas: Gibb River Road, Tanami Track, Gunbarrel Highway, Birdsville Track, Strzelecki Track, Simpson Desert, Oodnadatta track and Cape York.
Swiss Aussie vehicles are not permitted on the Canning Stock Route, the Bungle Bungles, the Lost City in Litchfield Park and the Telegraph Road section of the road to Cape York.

Pets and smoking are not allowed in our vehicles.

Accidents   
Procedure to be followed in case of an accident:
Details of other driver/s and witnesses to be obtained
Do not accept blame for the accident
Report the accident to police, regardless of damage costs.
Fill out, sign and submit accident report to Boomerang Campers.
Inform Swiss Aussie within 24 hours about the accident.

Liability

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.


Swiss Aussie Campers insurance
